Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! We offer a free 30 minute trial class for newcomers. Just let us know your preferred day and time, and we’ll try to schedule a class for you

  • If you do not have your own instrument for the trial class, just inform us and we will arrange one for you. For woodwind and brass instruments, you are encouraged to purchase a reed for the trial class.

    However, we do strongly encourage you to get your own instrument as you’d need to practice in between lessons.

  • That’s perfectly fine! We offer leisure lessons as well. If you don’t want to sit for external exams, our teachers will cater to your interests and craft the lessons around it. For example, if you want to learn a particular song, they will teach the song according to your level as hobby class.

  • Of course! Here at The Academy, we open our doors to people of all walks of life. We offer beginner lessons so that you can start off on the right track.

  • The teachers will cater to the students’ interests.

    For example, if a student wants to learn how to improvise on a guitar, the teacher will teach the student scales and exercises to improve movement around the fretboard.

  • Our fees range following the duration of the class and the grade level you are in. The monthly fee for a 30-minutes beginner lesson is RM 220.

  • Yes, we do! You may check out our online shop on Shopee, Lazada & TikTok or feel free to contact us if you are looking for anything in particular.

    Our friendly staff will be more than happy to recommend and advice accordingly.

  • Yes, we have a variety of books to guide you in your learning journey. However, fees for books are not included in the class fees. You will have to pay separately upon purchasing a book.

    The price of a book can range from RM 10 to RM 129, depending on the book type.

  • There is no fixed age to start learning as it varies from individual to individual!

    Here are some recommended age to start these instruments:

    Piano, drums, ukulele,: 4 years old

    Violin, Vocals: 7 years old

    Guitar: 8 years old

    Nonetheless, you may sign up for a trial class first, and the teacher will assess your skill level accordingly.
